 Peter Chase has been building boats for 35 years. He attended the Philadelphia College of Art and graduated from a boat building program in Lubec, Maine. He worked at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland for two years before moving home to Cape Rosier to work with his brother Carl finishing off Jarvis Newman Friendship Sloop hulls. He then joined Caterpillar Boatworks where he designed and built the 17’ Dirigo sea kayak. In the early eighties he moved to the Brooklin Boat Yard where he worked for 20 years. He opened his own shop in 2005.Peter is seen to the right rowing in Horseshoe Cove where he lives with his wife, Sophie. He’s in his newly designed Cape Rosier 12’ Rowing and Sailing Dinghy.
